Happy Birthday, AF!

Well, folks, Aurora Fleet has just surpassed its half-year birthday. We came online June 26th of this year! I read somewhere where most start-up sites don't last beyond three months, so...I guess that means we're doing pretty awesome. I am personally very proud of this site, as it is a pure labor of love for us.

To be honest, beginning this site was a massive leap of faith for us. Archangel (Rachel Deacon) and myself had come from a pretty dark place in our former RP home. I don't need to go into detail because everyone has seen it all before - childlike, petty admins, back-biting, grabbing for imaginary "power", lies, and ineffectual post-turtles stuffed into positions of actual responsibility. What an utter nightmare. And so, there comes a point at which you realize that...enough is, indeed, enough. You can either sit around and swallow the dung you're fed, or you can start your own kitchen.

My friends...welcome to the kitchen. We are honored by your interest, trust, and enthusiasm.

So, well, here we are, half a year and over three thousand posts in. We have an activity level that most young sites would give real money for. That may sound like bragging, but it takes an entire group effort for that...so I feel comfortable bragging on you all. It's a hell of a start, no doubt.
