Wait.  No.  That wasn't right...he wasn't on the ship with his boyfriend.  He was...where was he?  Who was he?  Oh.  Yeah.  "S-s-sorry..I'm Gavin.  Van Gelder?  Yes, like that Van Gelder.  I'm an Ensign science officer."  The young man suddenly frowned.  "Wait, that's right...they finally promoted me.  If I'd just spied on Zero like they wanted, I'd be a full Lieutenant by now."

Persephone's ears were pinned back in distress once again as she listened to the young man's ramblings. She prepared another dose of the anti-venom, injecting it into his neck while hoping that he would start to respond to it soon.

One thing she was sure of was that they couldn't stay out in the open for much longer. They needed to find shelter. Looking back at Gavin, she frowned slightly, the knowledge that she couldn't move him far concerning her. Thankfully, a quick glance around allowed her to spot a hole under a tree, perhaps an abandoned burrow formerly used by an indigenous animal. A little digging work with her paws soon widened the entrance and deepened the hole to accommodate the pair of them. It would be very close quarters, but it was shelter.

Returning to Gavin's side, she pulled his arm around her shoulders to move him the short distance to the hole before settling him inside it.
