Help Files: Ribbons!

Throughout your character's careers on Aurora Fleet, various ribbons and commendations may be awarded both in an in character manner as well as an out of character one.

Awards ceremonies generally happen on a bi-annual schedule, although certain ribbons will be handed out on a monthly basis (post of the month), and some will be awarded on a one-off basis (campaigns).

When the award ceremonies come around, please drop recommendations to your commanding officers!

STARFLEET MERIT AWARD


Command
For Command Officers who have distinguished themselves in some way.


Flight Department
For Flight personnel who have distinguished themselves in some way.


Sciences and Medical
For both Science and Medical personnel who have distinguished themselves in some way.


Operations
For Security, Tactical, Engineering and Operations personnel who have distinguished themselves in some way.



STARFLEET MEDAL OF COMMENDATION
Award given to Starfleet personnel who have distinguished themselves in their particular speciality.



STARFLEET MEDAL OF VALOUR
Award given to Starfleet personnel for conspicuous acts of valor and heroism during missions.



STAR CROSS
Award given to Starfleet personnel for distinguished actions.



PURPLE HEART
Award given to Starfleet personnel severely injured or killed in service.



STARFLEET SURGEON'S DECORATION
Award given to Starfleet medical personnel who have distinguished themselves in their field.

Posting Excellence
Awarded to members who regularly produce well written and thought out posts.



Daystrom Award
Awarded to members who display outstanding knowledge of their field.



Order of the Mek'Leth
Awarded to members who display excellent skill in combat description.



Most Improved
Awarded to players who have made significant improvement since the last awards ceremony.



Most Loveable Character
Awarded to, yes, loveable characters.



Best Pair
Awarded to two characters who work well together



Best Couple
Awarded to two characters who are in a relationship and work well together.



Riker Award
Awarded to a character known for their charm.



Ten Forward Award
Awarded to members who are highly active on the shore leave boards.



Order of the Dove
Awarded to members who try to smooth ruffled feathers and keep the peace.



Captain's Choice
Awarded to a member from each ship chosen by the captains who they feel deserve recognition.



First Officer's Choice
Awarded to a member from each ship chosen by the first officers who they feel deserve recognition.

Participated in the first mission
This one speaks for itself:  If you participated in the first ever mission on Aurora Fleet, Reductio ad Absurdum, you should have received this ribbon.


Founding Member
This ribbon can only be found on four members of the Fleet, the four individuals who have been with us since the site's very beginnings:  Rachel Deacon, Corman Stark, Henriks Abols and Jiseth.


Contributed art or literature
There will be future ribbons for submitting several pieces to our gallery.


Post of the Month - Missions
Awarded to members who win post of the month for a mission post.


Post of the Month - Shore Leave Topics
Awarded to members who win post of the month for shore leave topics.
