"I...well," he said, before going into quick and succinct detail about the inglorious clusterflub that was their Sickbay, and the command-level officer that was currently cooling her heels behind a containment field.  Literally cooling, if her shivers were any indication.  "That's the long and short of it, ma'am."

He scanned the area.  T'Koris' husband seemed to have as much a clue as to what was happening as he did.  Corman quirked an eyebrow at the arrival of Doctor Telak and...a Klingon?  Ah.  Good.  He'd heard that there was one stationed on the base, but hadn't met the man yet.  Apparently, he and the Cardie were close.  Interesting.

"Ensign," Corman said, as he spotted a man in gold who, judging from his sidearm, was security.  "Full report.  I want to know what's happening to my station, and I want to know yesterday!"

John Harriman wrote:

John heard all of the officers asking questions he turned to Admirals Deacon and Corman since they were the ranking officers and his CO and XO

"Admirals what happened is the captain attacked the chief with a knife, this was after she refused to comply with the request to come to Sickbay. After she attacked the commander I erected a level ten security force-field to keep her from attacking anymore of my fellow officers. After that I contacted Sickbay and had us beamed here."

He said this slightly upset he was sad to see a family torn and angry that his DH was dead.(As far as he knew)

[Sickbay]

After hearing the report from both her second in command and apparently a security ensign, Rachel was wondering whether not being able to see the chaos was, in fact, a blessing.

"Has the Chief of Security been transported to sickbay?" she asked, figuring that this was a sensible question, given that she needed to know the status of her personnel.

She'd stabbed the security chief?  That had to be Shora, the Andorian who was one of Chira's friends.  How could she do such a thing?  Archangel wouldn't, the voice said.  But Nemesis would.  And did.  This is the kind of mother your children need?  Deserve?  She's right.  Let her go.  It's not too late to restart your life.  You're not too far in.

"Bullshit," Gabriel muttered, closing his eyes and leaning his head against the forcefield, his hand touching hers, with the energy barrier in between.  The field was just a restraining one, and not a putative barrier, so there was no pain.  "Those girls need their mother as much as they need me, Angel," he whispered.  "I'm not going anywhere, and neither are you.  I'm going to have them anesthetize you for now, e'lev.  You're not well.  You're not...you're not yourself."  Right...right, his voice said.  You just keep telling yourself that.

[Sickbay]

Archangel wished that she could reach through the barrier, touch her husband one last time before Section 31 took her away. She closed her eyes briefly as another burst of shivering came over her.

Then snapped them open again as Gabriel mentioned anaesthetising her. "No!" she exclaimed. "I can't go to sleep! I can't! Sovereign! Sovereign will hurt you and the girls if I disobey him!"

"Alright, we've done what we can," Mykel said, nodding to Jones.  "She'll need sickbay care from here on out."  He and Andrea had done their best to stabilize Shora in the frenetic handful of seconds after their Cardassian perp had somehow slipped away from the station.  Thankfully, Andrea Jones was a S and R specialist, one of the best that Mykel had worked with.  Her field First Aid was above Academy standard.

He sighed, not wanting to make the next call, but knowing he had to.

Sovereign.

The name and word was a like a slap to the face, a cold ball of ice in the pit of Gabriel's stomach. The man who haunted their lives like the Satan of Ancient Earth mythology. Archangel must have been truly in distress and not in her mind to be spouting out Intel codenames like that. Not that the word would have meant much to anyone else, but...still. It wasn't good form, and she was nothing if not precise.

"Sovereign won't hurt you now, Angel," Gabriel quietly said. "You, or the girls. And if he tries..." he trailed off, looking down at the ground. When he raised his eyes again, they were like cold blue thunderheads, full of rage and murderous intent. "...if he tries, he dies. I'll end him myself."

Gabriel turned to one of the med techs that had seemed to swarm into Sickbay from out of nowhere. "Put her under. Gently."

Maya had set up the requested space, the typical for quarantined and unruly patients. She was only expecting a captain and the person who the concerned voice had belonged to. But suddenly sickbay went from zero to stuffed. She threw her hands up with a huff, one tightly clenching a tricorder. Where the hell were the other medics! she gruffed to herself. They certainly weren't here. She had called for them when the Chief rang sickbay.

There were plenty of people as it was. Currently, she counted three high ranking redshirts, a yellowshirt, a Klingon, a Cardassian in sickbay pajamas with half her hair shaved off, two kids, and herself. "If you could calm yourselves down, you'll be seen to as soon as possible."

=/\=Noted,=/\= Maya grumbled, tapping her comm badge to reply. Yay, another person to be added to the mix. But now someone had activated the EMH, causing Maya to turn red for not having thought of that. At least there'd be another pair of hands to help now.

Noting the way the Romulan seemed to shiver, Maya grudgingly raised the temp in sickbay. The comfort of the patients came first. But with the addition of so many people in such a short time, it was feeling rather stuffy. Beads of sweat began to trickle down her forehead, catching on her brow, where they hung to her great annoyance. She wiped them away with the edge of her sleeve before turning back to deal with the situation at hand.

The doors to sickbay swished open, and the room filled to capacity as medics came rushing in. About time, Maya thought. Among them was the Chief, carrying an unclothed woman in his arms...

Oh, she wished that she could believe him. She wished that what Gabriel was saying was true, but she knew better. She knew that the Cardassian who had pulled her into this web of lies and deceit would never let her go. She shivered again, but the temperature seemed to have been raised a few degrees and the movement wasn't as severe as before.

She closed her eyes again, letting out a slow breath as she tried to calm herself down. Confinement had never suited her well. There were too many memories attached to the feeling of being imprisoned for her to be any other way.

Hearing the approach of another person, the young Romulan opened her eyes again to see a blue-shirted medic close to the forcefield with a hypospray in his hand.

"No!" she yelped, scrambling as far away from him as the forcefield would allow (which, unfortunately, wasn't far). "I can't! They decide when I'm allowed to sleep! I'm not allowed to sleep!"

Seeing the arrival of what looked like an Andorian in a serious condition, Ilana touched Raynor's arm, attracting his attention before moving over to the security chief's bedside, picking up a few tools on the way.

She knew that working without the ability to speak was going to be difficult. Working with a stammer had already been hard, when a short command could become so much longer, but this was duty. There was a person's life at stake here. Difficult of not, she had to do her best to heal them. If she didn't, what was her purpose?

Taking hold of the edges of the Andorian's uniform, she tore the fabric further so as to gain better access to the wound. Thankfully, the knife was still lodged firmly between the exoskeletal plates. Had it not, a lot more blood could have been lost. Picking up a tricorder, she started to run scans, gathering information so that she could decide on the best plan of action to un-skewer the commander.

He then looked at the admiral and spoke. "Ma'am she is being beamed here now, she was being checked out by the field medic." as he said that the commander appeared on a bed three from the admirals and himself.

Someone said something about the Chief.  Henriks, Gabriel thought, turning to say something to the man.

Any coherent focus on language left his mind, though, when he saw who Abols was carrying.  It was his sister.  Without clothing.

"Chira!" Gabe shouted, immediately yanking his uniform top off and draping it over her, trying not to feel like his eyes were going to fly out of his skull and smash against the far wall.  "What...in the hell...do you think you're doing, carrying her around like this!"

Seeing the hypospray diverted, Archangel relaxed a fraction, the terror at sleeping when she had not been told by her handler that it was allowed lessening. Although she didn't remember much of her induction into Section 31, se remembered enough to know that she didn't want to disobey them. They had made sure of that.

The deep breath that she had taken, however, threatened to bring that panic back. While unsure of what it was, she knew that the air had a different scent, a different taste to it. By the time she realised that, though, it was too late, she had already been breathing it for longer than she knew.

The panicked words that sprang to her lips were quietened to a sleepy slur as the neurozine gas did what it was supposed to.

"Can't... must... can't sleep... they'll know..." The mumbled words drifted off as the Romulan's eyelids slid shut and her body finally relaxed into sleep.

Raynor glanced in the direction Ilana indicated, watching as an Andorian woman materialized on one of the biobeds. He recognized Shora, since he'd been drinking with her once or twice since coming aboard the station. She was a true warrior, and a good drinker, too. Whoever did this...

No. There's be time for vengeance later. Now, there was a life at stake.

The Klingon examined the patient with two minds - that of a medic, and that of a warrior. He'd seen plenty of stab wounds in his life, and treated them. Most people he'd treated lived, so the odds for the Andorian were pretty good.

"We'll need to remove the knife, first and foremost," he said, tapping his lower lip. "Lana, get me a sterile compress, and get me the auto-suture." Raynor gave a quick glance, smiling softly. "Please?"

With that, he gripped the knife, applying steady pressure, and removing the blade.

While Ilana was the billeted medic between the two of them, Ilana ceded the place of 'in charge' to Raynor. He had seen far more stab wounds in his life than she had and, in any case, it was easier for someone who could speak to call out for the instruments they needed.

As the Raynor pulled out the knife, the Cardassian was already waiting with the compresses, applying pressure with them over the wound as soon as it had been cleared of the blade. The auto-stuture had been left by Raynor's hand, ready to be picked up and applied.

Raynor felt bad about just bulling on in and taking over, but he'd already committed to the treatment of Shora, and it was too late to go back now. It still made him feel as low as targ crap, because he could imagine how Ilana was feeling - now that she'd lost her voice, she was not able to function fully as a doctor.

That was far from the truth, but it was a problem for later. So many problems for 'later', he thought. So many.

"Alright," the Klingon said, nodding in appreciation as she pressed the gauze. "I'm going to begin the process of regenerating the internal tissue. Fortunately, she has not lost a lot of blood, and the blade was small." Whoever had done the stabbing was damn good at it, that was for sure. "And we should be thankful that it wasn't a Klingon blade that did this butcher's work."

Having said that, Raynor began the slow process of repairing the Andorian's internal injuries.

Henriks had hardly any time to assess the zoo that was sickbay when Gabe found him. "I-I..." he sputtered, freezing under the brother's gaze. What could he say? The words would only get caught in his throat. Finally, he forced something out. "We-we were swimming, in the-the arboretum. She f-fell asleep." Henriks was absolutely terrified, almost afraid that he wouldn't survive the encounter of brother protecting sister.

One of the biobeds had thankfully been empty when Henriks walked in, so that was where Chira rested now. Another of the med staff had brought a pair of sickbay issued pajamas for the lady before beginning scans. "W-would you rather I have left her there? I just wanted to get her somewhere safe," Henriks added meekly.

[Sickbay]

Ilana quietly assisted Raynor in his work on the Andorian. Not that she had any other choice but to assist him quietly. She couldn't speak. That kind of indicated 'quietly'.

As he spoke about the blade being small and that the chief of security hadn't lost a lot of blood, her eyes drifted over to the rest of sickbay and the chaos happening there. A sedated captain, a naked counsellor, a blind Admiral... She sighed softly and turned her attention back to the patient she was assisting with, keeping Raynor's work area clean and as clear of blood as she could. The damage was being repaired rapidly under his care, she could see that.

[Sickbay]

Sighing, Gabriel shook his head, trying not to imagine that he felt his brain rattling around inside. "No...no, of course not. It's just...I mean, couldn't you have, like, I dunno, grabbed her clothes, too?" He didn't really want to hear any more details about what Chira and Henriks were doing. They were adults, and she was the eldest sibling, after all. She could do what the hell ever she wanted. Still, he'd always been highly protective of Chira, no matter that he was actually the baby brother. "It's fine. It's just...it's fine."

With his sister's decency seen to, he was free to check on his wife. A few of the medics had moved her to a biobed. She appeared to be breathing steadily and calmly. Gabriel wasn't sure how long the sedative would last - it hadn't been that big of a dose - but, he definitely wanted to be there for her when she woke up.

Gabriel gently slid his hand into hers, brushing long strands of sweat-matted hair out of her face. She looked so peaceful. Peace, he thought, is a luxury not afforded to people like us.

The young Romulan slept peacefully, even though the sleep was unnatural. In fact, it only took her a couple of minutes before her eyelids flickered slightly and she began to come 'round again. She blinked, looking up at sickbay's ceiling and apparently trying to piece together the last while.

Once the pieces started to fall into place, she drew in a sharp breath. Through the fog of drug-induced sleep, her actions still startled her. Yet she couldn't deny that she had done them. They were the dark thoughts that she kept tucked away, desperate not to let them out.

Feeling a hand in hers, she looked around at Gabriel, her expression troubled. What would he think of her now? Why was he still here?

The smile on his face as she opened her eyes was genuine, and, for a few moments, chased everything away. There was no 31, no madness, no crowded sickbay...just the two of them.

"Are you alright, e'lev?" he asked, bringing her hand up to his lips for a quick kiss. From the corner of his eye, he saw Hughes and Ilana working on Shora. The Klingon seemed to have lessened the sense of urgency with which he was working, so it probably was good news for the Andorian. "Can I get you anything?"

Archangel also glanced at the Klingon and thae Cardassian currently at work on the chief of security she had stabbed, reasoning, with some relief, that they wouldn't be working to save a corpse, nor would they be so calm and measured in their movements had it been a race against time.

She gently squeezed the hand in hers before letting go so that she could push herself into a sitting position on the biobed. She felt nauseous. Whether it was at the memory of what she had done or because of the neurozine, she wasn't sure. She glanced down at the black uniform she was wearing and grimaced.

"A proper uniform, perhaps?"

"You bet," Gabriel said, the corner of his mouth quirking up with a little smile. There wasn't much to smile over, but he was glad to see her want to be out of that reptilian blackness. He stopped himself from giving her a full kiss on the mouth. Now that things were...well, still far from 'normal', but not as insane as they had been...they were back to Captain and Commander.

Besides. It looked like there had been plenty of fraternization going on today, without their help...

Giving a quick command to a medic to replicate a fresh uniform, Gabriel reached for his own. It still felt a little warm, so he just pinned his commbadge on his red undershirt. "Um...the girls are here. In Abols' office. I think they'd like to see you feeling better. It's been a...confusing...night for them."

Archangel returned the small smile, reacing out to take his hand and give it a quick squeeze before shrugging off the black jacket of the uniform, leaving her in the thin, short-sleeved undershirt that also happened to be black because Section 31 didn't have much imagination when it came to their uniform.

With the same meticulousness that she was known for, she folded the jacket neatly in her lap and looked at it. She was dishonoured in the eyes of her family. Associating with Section 31 itself was a dishonour. They had been creeping back into her life, dropping little hints everywhere that told her that they were watching. A knife left out. Her codename coming up when she logged into a console. Someone in a black uniform nodding to her from across a crowd.

When a medic brought her uniform, she quickly shrugged on the red undershirt over the black, followed by the grey jacket. She didn't want to strip off in the middle of such a crowded sickbay and, in any case, it was still a little cold. Looking down at her hands, which were folded in her lap, she spoke.

"I think they're better staying where they are for now. At least until things out here calm down."

As the wide doors of Sickbay's main entrance swished open, Mykel Carollos suddenly found himself wishing that it'd been him who had gotten beamed the hell somewhere else, and not that random Cardassian.  Admirals, doctors, a Klingon, captains...looks like a place where junior officers go to get devoured alive, he thought.

"Harriman," he said, finding the man.  "Sweeps have concluded.  There is no trace of the Cardassian.  Whatever took him off the station didn't leave any trail to follow."  Mykel glanced over at where Shora was lying on a table.  T'Koris, her attacker, was also in the Sickbay.  Apparently, nobody had a problem with this?  He sidled up a little closer to Harriman.  "Should we...should we keep eyes on the both of them," he asked, his voice low and subtle.

John watched his fellow security officer come in, he listened to his friend then responded. "It may have been a new type of transporter." he answered he then leaned into his friend "That is not our call but I should be fine for now."

"Okay," Gabriel said, a bit quieter than he would have liked. He couldn't help but feel his eyes drifting toward the now-neatly-folded uniform lying next to her. It represented everything wrong in their lives, everything that threatened to tear them apart at every turn. It's what's eventually going to be the end of you, in one way or another. In what way, he wasn't sure - of them as a family, as a couple...or to their lives in general.

But he was finding it hard to argue with that thought.

Actually, he was finding it hard to think or concentrate on anything. He just felt...drained. Exhausted. Giving himself a little shake, Gabriel reached over to his wife, gently touching her under the point of her chin, and tilting her head upward, his eyes meeting hers. He could remember being a younger junior officer, first assigned to her engineering crew on the Discovery, the first time he'd looked into those eyes, dark and beautiful like space. They'd filled him with intimidation, yes, but...something else, as well. Something that finally was able to blossom into love. Something that...he'd be damned that he'd let scum like 31 tear apart. "It's going to be alright," he said, his voice soft and steady as his smile.

Then, he gave a quick wink, turning and moving over to where Chira lay sleeping. At least someone had put some pajamas on her. "Henriks," Gabriel said, placing a hand on his soon-to-be brother-in-law's shoulder. "Sorry about snappin' at you, back there. What...what in the hell do you think is happening, here?"

[Sickbay]

Henriks had grabbed her clothes when they left the arboretum, but he had not thought the rest of it through as he should have. But there was nothing he could do to change that, so he might as well delve into his work to hopefully redeem himself. He could finally asses the situation at large.

Gabe had returned his attentions to his wife. Telak and the Klingon were working quietly side by side to treat an Andorian. The rest of the medical staff were treating, and hopefully running tests on other personnel. And Maya Stone was yelling, "No, no, now! You are not leaving until I can properly run tests on you!" at a young yellowshirt who was attempting to leave.

Sighing, Henriks picked up a tricorder and began his own scans on his slumbering lady. A crewman tapped him on the shoulder to offer him a padd with his current findings. Henriks read it quickly before setting it down and continuing his scans when Chira’s brother returned.

“No, it’s ok,” he replied. “You were taking care of your sister.” He paused a moment before adding, “I can’t be sure just yet what’s going on. But something has certainly infected much of the stations crew, and perhaps some of yours as well. Most everyone seems to be complaining of heat, though environmental controls are at normal settings, and there seems to be a good deal more of moodiness, for lack of a better word. Scans have only just begun, but one of my crewman tells me blood is displaying unusual qualities.”
