Backstory

With the return of Voyager to the Federation and the discovery of just how useful a holographic crewmember could be to a starship, especially ones where space would be at a premium. As such, they started to experiment with holograms serving in other departments than medical. Mira is a prototype security and tactical hologram intended to serve as a backup to existing forces or as a replacement in the case of the incapacitation of 'organic' security officers.

She was assigned to Starbase Athena in order to be tested for possible implementation on starships.

"Report."

"Well, I think that probably needs working on," came the officer's reply. Mira looked to the somewhat bemused security officer who had just activated her mobile emitter. The hologram frowned slightly, trying to understand what he meant.

"That's how I was programmed. A greeting that was short and to the point in case of an emergency," she remarked, folding her arms and almost daring the officer to talk back.
