| The tone of Gabriel's voice, just like the sound if her daughters crying, caused Archangel to pause in her weak struggles. It tore into her heart with iron talons. She let him get her back into bed, lying back on the pillows. She closed her eyes for a moment. She had known that her stubborness when it came to sickbay and the lack of care that she took for herself caused him no end of worry, but she had never heard him voice it so directly. But, she found that she still had to fight it, fight it with everything that she had, force herself to keep going when most would stop to lick their wounds. She had to keep proving to the world that she was stronger than what they threw at her.
"I'm sorry," she murmured, even though she knew that those simple words couldn't even make a dent in the problem that she posed to her family.

"I'm sorry," she murmured, even though she knew that those simple words couldn't even make a dent in the problem that she posed to her family. Gabriel sank into the chair beside the bed, his temples pounding. Sighing, he pressed his fingertips into them. It did nothing to alleviate anything. "No..." he quietly said, reaching over to take her hand, his smile sad but full of love. " I'm the one that should apologize. I just...I know that you're not hurting yourself on purpose. You don't do yourself any favors, though, by ignoring every scrap of medical advice ever given to you." Kissing the fingertips, Gabe got up and took out a medical scanner from the now-well-used kit. "How do you feel? Anything in particular hurting?"

Kissing the fingertips, Gabe got up and took out a medical scanner from the now-well-used kit. "How do you feel? Anything in particular hurting?" Although she wanted to get up, to reassure Gabriel that she was alright, Archangel was starting to get the idea that there was no point in trying to do that. It was getting harder and harder to fool him into believing that she wasn't hurt. She lay still on the bed, still propped up on the pillows, trying to think of something to say to him. She couldn't deny his words given that she was almost well known in the various sickbays she had attended as being notorious for her stubbornness about going back on duty as soon as the dermal regenerator had been turned off. Fortunately, he pulled out the medical tricorder from the kit they kept in their quarters, running it over her again before she could reply. "Everything hurts," she replied after a moment's hesitation, lifting her good hand up and studying its faint trembling before looking back at him. "My arm and my leg are the worst. I think the majority of the drugs are out of my system now. The hallucinations seem to be gone for now." Her eyes fell to the cup of tea still sitting on the night stand and reached out, picking it up. Thankfully, it was light enough for her to lift and she took a slow mouthful. Liquid. Surely she would be able to keep liquid down and with any luck, it would allow Gabriel some comfort if she could.
